For the first time in his career, Ohio State star JT Barrett has been honored as the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week. The award comes after Barrett’s impressive performance over Wisconsin last weekend to advance the Buckeyes to 6-0 on the year.
News of Barrett’s award was announced on Tuesday.

Barrett threw for for 226 yards and one touchdown, while adding 92 yards and two more scores on the ground in Ohio State’s 30-23 overtime victory. Barrett was also named the Big Ten Conference’s co-offensive player of the week.
It is the first time in two years that a quarterback from the Big Ten has earned the weekly honor.
Ohio State returns to action this weekend on the road against Penn State. Kickoff between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions is set for 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
