In July, Nebraska punter Sam Foltz was tragically killed in a car accident. Since his passing, Cornhuskers opponents and the Cornhuskers themselves have been honoring their fallen peer each and every week.
This week, however, was extra touching.
Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone changed his uniform number to 27 prior to the start of the season to pay tribute to Foltz, who was one of Gaglianone’s best friends. On Saturday, Gaglianone continued to honor his friend by walking onto the field with Nebraska players while carrying Foltz’s jersey.
Members of the Cornhuskers team embraced Gaglianone prior to walking out of the tunnel as well.
It was a truly remarkable moment.

It’s great to see the two rivals could put football aside for something much bigger than the game.
Wisconsin currently leads Nebraska, 7-0, midway through the first quarter at Camp Randall Stadium.
