Another day, another lost defensive star for the Tennessee Volunteers.
On Sunday night, 247 Sports reported sophomore defensive tackle Shy Tuttle will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a right leg injury in Saturday’s loss to South Carolina. It was Tennessee’s third straight loss.
The injury could reportedly include MCL damage and/or a fractured bone.
Sources within the program and on campus have indicated that concerns for this Tuttle injury center around both his right medial collateral ligament (MCL) and a potential fractured bone.
It’s just the latest disappointing setback for the Vols and Tuttle.
Last season, Tuttle had his year cut short due to foot and ankle injuries. He missed the second half of the season and ultimately all of spring ball. However, he appeared to be coming on strong in the past weeks.
Unfortunately, Tuttle must spend the offseason once again recovering from injury.
Tennessee hopes to finally rebound this coming weekend at home against Tennessee Tech.
