Actor Idris Elba, best known for his incredible work as “Stringer” Bell on the HBO hit series “The Wire,” decided to try his hand at a different craft over the weekend.
Elba has been training for his kickboxing debut and that finally came Friday night in London.
There is a surprising twist to the story, however. The footage of Elba’s professional kickboxing debut comes from none other than… Madonna? Yep, that’s correct.
Surprisingly, The 44-year-old Elba didn’t look too bad in his debut and he was able to pick up the win.

Elba is currently filming a three-part documentary series on Discovery Channel titled, “Idris Elba: Fighter.” The series — which takes a look at the roots of Muay Thai and kickboxing, according to MMAFighting.com — is expected to premiere in 2017.
