This weekend, the Texas Tech Red Raiders take on Oklahoma State.
In anticipation of the Big 12 matchup, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was sharing his analysis of Red Raiders quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who Gundy believes is a future first-round pick.
Gundy then went on to compare Mahomes to Dallas Cowboys rookie star Dak Prescott.
“I think he’s a potential first-round pick. He reminds me a lot of Dak Prescott, when we played Dak and Mississippi State when he was younger,” Gundy said of Mahomes, via NFL.com. “The style of play, body, strength, speed, ability to throw in different positions, it reminds me a lot of him.”
Of course, Mahomes is a junior so there is no guarantee he will even declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.
If he does, Mahomes is expected to be one of the top signal-callers available. On the season, Mahomes has 3,886 yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He has added another ten touchdowns on the ground.
