Georgia Tech leading rusher Dedrick Mills suspended for second time in 2016

Georgia Tech leading rusher Dedrick Mills is once again in head coach Paul Johnson’s doghouse.

This week, the Yellow Jackets announced the B-back has been suspended for the next two games this season. It is the second time this season Mills has been suspended this season, after missing a game against Mercer earlier this year.

“It’s never good to play without a starter,” Johnson said, via the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “It is what it is. Move on, next man up.”

The star freshman has rushed for 578 yards and ten touchdowns.

Without Mills able to go for the next two weeks, Marcus Marshall is expected to take over as the team’s starter. Marshall was the Yellow Jackets leading rusher a year ago.

This week, Georgia Tech takes on No. 18 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
