Jalen Hurts had himself a whale of a game en route to a 51-3 Alabama victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Hurts, who is beginning to emerge as a legitimate Heisman contender, was successful in all phases of the game and set a new Alabama record.
During the game, Hurts became the first Alabama quarterback to throw for over 300 yards and rush for 100 yards in the same game.

What is most impressive is what Hurts is doing with his arm. His mobility has never been questioned, but many wondered whether he had enough throwing the ball to keep this Alabama team in the running for the National Championship.
He continues to respond to those criticisms with his play on the field.

Nobody expected Alabama to lose this game, but a 50-3 victory over an SEC opponent is as impressive a victory you can have. Hurts is proving to be the efficient offensive playmaker Alabama needs to win football games.
Hurts completed 75 percent of his passes in this game and threw for four touchdowns. If the Hurts plays this way, and the Tide defense plays at the level everyone has come to expect, there may not be a team that can beat them this year.
