Over the summer, the Georgia Bulldogs revealed they would wear black jerseys at some point during the 2016 college football season. Well, it looks like that time could be now.
Monday night, the UGA Football Twitter account made some noise by dropping a strong hint that the black alternates are coming this weekend against Louisiana-Lafayette. It would be the first time since 2008 that Georgia has donned black jerseys.
The pretty clear hint simply read, “Back in Black.”
UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said over the summer that the Bulldogs would wear a black jersey during a home game this season and now would be the perfect time.
With the UGA crowd being asked to “black out” Sanford Stadium, the writing is on the wall.
The Bulldogs and Ragin’ Cajuns are set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET in Athens.
