Video: Cross country runner gets demolished by deer

It’s the hit of the year. Part Sean Taylor, part hoofed wrecking ball; a cross country runner was drilled mid-race when a deer collided with him.

Justin DeLuzio, a runner for Gwyneed Mercy University, was the victim of this collision. DeLuzio sustained no serious injures…so it’s OK to laugh about it. The deer was subsequently disqualified for targeting and could face suspension.

The vocalization from DeLuzio makes this video all the more gruesome. Anyone notice only one of the runners who were in his immediate area broke from the race to help him?

DeLuzio didn’t sustain any major injuries and showed all of his buddies he can take a hit.

While deer are capable of reaching speeds of over 40 MPH, this would not dissuade DeLuzio from finishing the race. Despite the collision, he finished with a time of 31:16 in an 8K race.

That is a sub-6:30 pace for over five miles. Pretty good, all things considered
