On Friday, Kennedale High School standout Baron Browning announced his top six schools.
The five-star linebacker, who is one of the top ten recruits in the nation in the Class of 2017, released his final six on Twitter and there was a bit of a surprise.
While 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball Projection tabbed the in-state Texas Longhorns as the favorite to land his services, Charlie Strong’s team did not even make the final cut. In fact, only one team from Texas made the list, the TCU Horned Frogs.
Browning’s final six schools are (in alphabetical order) Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, TCU and UCLA.
The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder is the No. 3 player in the state of Texas, the No. 2 recruit at his position and the No. 9-ranked player in the nation. Browning had 40 total offers.
Whoever lands Browning is going to be awfully happy.
Unfortunately for the Longhorns, they won’t get that opportunity.
