Texas A&M football lands No. 1 LB Anthony Hines III

The Texas A&M football program had a major get on Friday afternoon.

Anthony Hines III, the No. 1 inside linebacker recruit in the nation, announced on Twitter that he has committed to the Aggies.

“This has been a life changing and truly humbling experience to say the least, Hines wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank all of the schools and coaches who have reccruited me throughout this difficult process. From 90 to 1… Praise god! After thorough analyzation with my family, I am truly blessed to be committed to Texas A&M University.”

Hines chose Texas A&M over Florida, Ohio State, Penn State, TCU and UCLA.

Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin was clearly happy with the news.

It’s a major addition to the Aggies defense.

During his senior year at Plano East in Texas, Hines recorded 245 tackles (38 for a loss), six sacks, and five forced fumbles in 11 games. He is the No. 11 overall recruit in the state of Texas.
