Verne Lundquist is the voice of SEC Football, but on Saturday the legendary announcer called his final SEC Championship Game for CBS. Lundquist’s final game was a 54-16 drubbing of the Florida Gators, courtesy of the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide, winners of three consecutive conference titles.
Following the game, CBS gave Lundquist, who has been with the network since 1974, a proper send off with a touching tribute.
The video was shared on social media.

SEC Football on CBS won’t be the same without Verne Lundquist, but it’s time to pass the torch and hopefully another legendary voice will emerge.
Thanks for the memories, Verne!
