Paige Spirinac burst onto the scene during her time as a collegiate golfer at San Diego State thanks to her impressive trick shots and ability to slay it on the ‘Gram. Unfortunately, that rapid rise and vast exposure led to Spirinac facing one of the growing issues in today’s world, cyber bullying.

While speaking to the media at the Omega Dubai Ladies Classic, an emotional Spirinac spoke out against cyber bullying which she said nearly caused her to quit the sport.

Golf Digest shared a video of Spirinac’s comments, which also explain how the bullying forced her to give up social media for a few weeks and also led to a battle with depression. It’s impressive to see Spirinac sharing such a personal moment, but cyber bullying is a serious issue and it’s great to see an athlete speaking out against it and showing vulnerability.
