Conor McGregor nominated for GQ’s Most Stylish Man of the Year

It has been a calendar year for Conor McGregor, but this would be icing on the cake.

After proving on countless occasions that he is as lethal as any in the Octagon, the UFC lightweight champion might also be starting to make some headway for himself outside of it. McGregor has been nominated and placed in the tournament bracket for the GQ Magazine ‘Most Stylish Man of the Year’ competition.

Involving a field of 64 different men, competing head-to-head in a single elimination tournament, McGregor’s first matchup is against comedian Kevin Hart. Hart, who has a shoe deal with Nike, appeared to be a tough draw in the first round, but as we might have come to expect, the brash Irishman is making quick work of his opponent.

McGregor currently leads in the polls by a large margin.

McGregor recently announced that he will be taking a break from fighting while his girlfriend is pregnant with their first child. He is training as a boxer in California, having received a boxing license there a few weeks ago. With the bulk of his fighting career potentially behind him, this kind of extra-curricular publicity might be exactly what McGregor needs to sure his footing in other areas.
