Five-star RB Cam Akers names top six schools

Five-star running back Cam Akers, a standout at Clinton High School in Mississippi, is closing in on making his college division.

On Tuesday night, Akers took to Twitter to make an announcement about his top six schools. Akers also announced his final decision will come on the High School Football Network on Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. ET.

Akers’ final six schools, in alphabetical order, are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Akers is the No. 2 rated running back in the Class of 2017 and the No. 4 player in the nation, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

According to the site’s Crystal Ball Projections, Florida State is the current favorite to land the 5-foot-11, 213-pounder with a 55 percent chance, while Ole Miss is trailing behind at 21 percent and Ohio State at ten.
