John Calipari and the Kentucky basketball program continues to have overwhelming success on the recruiting trail, after landing five-star forward Jarred Vanderbilt early Friday afternoon.

Vanderbilt chose the Wildcats over Oregon, North Carolina and TCU.

The 6-foot-8 Victory Prep (Texas) standout made his announcement during an appearance on ESPNU.

“Next year I will be attending the University of Kentucky,” Vanderbilt stated. “I just felt like it had a family atmosphere when I went out there. Coach Cal (John Calipari) is a hall of fame coach, a great person and I feel like it does the best with developing his players on and off the court.”

Vanderbilt is currently rated as the No. 2 recruit in the state of Texas and the No. 6 player overall at his position. He is also the No. 20 overall prospect in the nation.
