Ronda Rousey will not take part in UFC 207 media activities

After more than a year out of the mixed martial arts spotlight, Ronda Rousey is set to return to the Octagon on Dec. 30 at UFC 207 to take on women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.

Unfortunately for fans who are hoping to hear from the former title holder ahead of her highly-anticipated return to action, they will have to wait.

This weekend, it was confirmed by the UFC that Rousey will not participate in any UFC 207 fight week media activities. Nunes will also be absent from Wednesday’s Ultimate Media Day, which is closed to the public.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the news.

As a result of the headliners’ absence, Wednesday’s media day will instead feature the remaining four main card bouts, including co-headliners Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrant who compete for the bantamweight title, while featured prelim opponents Johny Hendricks vs. Neil Magny will also get a bigger platform.

UFC 207 takes place Friday, Dec. 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The main card airs on pay-per-view, while preliminary bouts will air on UFC Fight Pass and FOX Sports 1.
