Nick Saban must not be a big fan of Chick-fil-A

Nick Saban likes his hogmollies big, fat and powerful, but not slow. With Alabama playing in the the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl today, the fast-food chain was set to make a large delivery of food to the program when it was told to cut it in half.

Customary for the participating teams, the restaurant provides mass quantities of free food which the players proceed to eat.

That didn’t sit well with Alabama coach Nick Saban, who requested the quantity of food delivered be halved so that his players wouldn’t binge on fried food. Apparently a belly full of fried chicken sandwiches and Pepsi isn’t good national champion fuel.

Alabama is considered a huge favorite ahead of the game against Washington today. With all of the Chick-fil-A in the bellies of their opponents, look for the Crimson Tide to have an extra step on their opponent.

Saban is a coaching icon and legend at this point, an experienced hand who knows what it takes to win the highest accolade possible, so if he thinks fewer chicken sandwiches gives his team an edge, who are we to judge him?
