USC fans make Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky piñatas for tailgate

Prior to the Rose Bowl game, which features USC and Penn Sate, some creative Californians came up with the idea of making life-size piñatas of Jerry Sandusky and beloved, but disgraced coach, Joe Paterno.
Sandusky is serving jail-time for molesting children in his care while he was a member of the Penn State coaching staff. Paterno, who passed away shortly after the scandal went public, allegedly failed to report the misconduct.
What is most upsetting about this kind of stab is the obvious lengths that were taken to make it a reality. Custom made, and apparently life size piñatas aren’t something you can whip up overnight. It takes weeks of diligent planning and long, patient hours.
That’s why this dig is probably going to irritate the Nittany Lions so much.

After endless sanctions and the looming possibility of the program receiving the death penalty in the wake of the scandal, the Nittany Lions have emerged as a contending program.
Still hampered by the lack of recruits they were able to extend offers to, though, Penn State is a young team with a long way to go.
