Alabama football to honor Eddie Jackson, Shaun Dion Hamilton

Alabama has had a defense of historically good proportions this year.

Finishing near the top in nearly every statistical category possible, the Crimson Tide haven’t gotten burned on too many plays this season. Now a staple of the Saban college football dynasty, Alabama has scored more points on defense then anyone else in the country.

Now making another National Championship appearance, the Crimson Tide will be without two of the main cogs in their defensive machine: Eddie Jackson and Shaun Dion Hamilton.

However, just because the players will be on the sideline in street clothes, doesn’t mean they won’t also be on the field with their teammates. (In spirit, anyway).

Both players suffered devastating injures that ended their seasons prematurely.

Jackson broke his leg in October and Hamilton tore his ACL in the SEC title game. Their teammates will be wearing these wristbands in their honor. “Do it 4 4 (Jackson’s number) + SDH.”

Both players were expected to be key contributors as the Tide reached their inevitable destination at the end of the season.
