Duke basketball: Amile Jefferson to miss game vs. FSU

The Duke basketball team will be without Amile Jefferson for a pivotal top ten clash in the ACC against Florida State.

During the ACC’s weekly conference call, interim head coach Jeff Capel confirmed Jefferson suffered a bone bruise on his right foot during Saturday’s game against Boston College which will force him to miss the game.

The injury could be cause for concern, because a broken right foot is what forced Jefferson to miss all but nine games a season ago.

Jefferson is averaging a double-double this season, with 13.6 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

The senior forward is one of the few veteran leaders on the Blue Devils, so his presence will be greatly missed when Duke takes the court against the Seminoles at Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee.

Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET.
