MLS SuperDraft results 2017: UCLA’s Abu Danladi selected No. 1

Day 1 of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft is in the books.

On Friday night in Los Angeles, teams from across the MLS made their first- and second-round picks, adding to the futures of their franchises. For two teams, Atlanta United and Minnesota United, it was the first time they participated in the event as expansion teams for the 2017 season.

The honor of going first overall went to UCLA forward Abu Danladi, who will be heading to pay for Minnesota United.

With the No. 2 pick, fellow expansion club Atlanta United took Syracuse defender Miles Robinson, the top defender in the ACC and a USA youth international. Atlanta also held the No. 8 pick, selecting Providence midfielder Julian Gressel.

Rounds 2 and 3 of the MLS SuperDraft will take place via conference call on January 17.
