Raiders reportedly file for relocation to Las Vegas

The Raiders appear to want to leave Oakland.
At an impasse with the city over the funding of a new stadium, the team is looking move to another home.
The were given a deadline by commissioner Roger Goddell that also them to explore their relocation options until Feb. 15.

The Raiders will need 24 team owners to approve their request to relocate. With little support from the city, and no proposals or plans to help fund the stadium, the prospect of Oakland leaving was becoming more and more likely.
Even if their relocation is approved, the Raiders will stay in Oakland while their new home in Las Vegas is being built; likely one or two seasons.
After many years of having only the Nevada Wolf Pack to root for, residents of the largely tourist funded city recently acquired their first professional team in the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.
It appears the Raiders brass will try and bring a football team as well.
