Javelin Guidry managed to whittle his long list of D-I football offers to two schools: Utah and Texas.
Today, he came to a decision.
Guidry made his announcement on social media Friday night.
The speedy defensive back will be doing his footballing in Utes uniform next season.
Standing at 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, the California native made numerous official visits between the two schools before making his final decision. While ESPN ranks him outside of their “Top 300,” they still rank him at four stars.
Meanwhile, 247Sports has him ranked at three-stars and as the No. 74 cornerback in the country.
Guidry appears to have great makeup speed and excellent ball skills. Some of his clips allow you to see just how talented he is with the ball in his hands; rare for a defensive back. That excellent makeup speed seems to make up for getting beat on a few routes in some of those clips, though.
With the right coaching, Utah may have gotten steal today. Certainly all of the physical tools are there for him to succeed.
