Hamilton cast will sing ‘America the Beautiful’ at Super Bowl

From the stage to the field, the NFL will be bringing Broadway to Houston, Texas for the Super Bowl this year.

The cast of the hit musical “Hamilton” will sing “American the Beautiful” in front of the packed NRG Stadium crowd. NRG Stadium has a capacity upwards of 70,000 and is expected to fill every seat for the football season finale.

Likely never having played a house that big, the players won’t be the only ones under pressure that day.

Hamilton absolutely killed in awards season. It won 11 Tony Awards and was nominated for a total of 16 this past year. It was the biggest hit musical in many years and one of the hottest tickets to get for several months.

Now, the cast members who will be singing join Luke Bryan who is singing the National Anthem, and Lady Gaga who is the headlining act of the halftime show.

Depending on how the game progress, either of the head coaches might ask that they actors visit their locker room at half time to give the players a pep talk from some real winners. 11 Tony’s is like winning 11 Super Bowls in one year, after all.
