Another One: Chris Long To Skip Patriots White House Visit

Chris Long is the latest on a growing list of New England Patriots players who will not join the team at the White House for its Super Bowl LI visit.

Martellus Bennett and Devin McCourty will not attend the celebration in protest of President Donald Trump, while linebacker Dont’a Hightower simply has been there, done that and doesn’t feel like making another trip.

For Long, his acknowledgement of his plan to skip came in response to Chuck Modiano of the New York Daily News.

Modiano wrote an open letter urging Long to skip the visit and noting that white players’ silence regarding Trump has been “pathetic.” Long obviously had an issue with those comments, so he took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
