NFL Draft 2017: Mike Mayock 'Scared To Death' Of Top QBs

As the 2017 NFL Draft approaches, there has been more and more discussion regarding the top quarterbacks in the draft.
Popular opinion is that Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, Deshone Kizer of Notre Dame and North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky are the top three signal-callers. That means all three could very well hear their names called in the first half of the first round.
But if you listen to draft analyst Mike Mayock, teams need to proceed with caution if they’re considering a top quarterback.
“All three of these quarterbacks, to me, I would be scared to death in the top 10,” Mayock said during an appearance on The College Draft podcast this week.
Mayock praised Kizer the most out of the trio, saying he has the heighest ceiling. However, he questioned Kizer’s mechanics inside of the pocket. As for the others, Watson’s accuracy has been an area of concern and everyone has questions over why Trubisky didn’t earn the starting job until last year.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the next couple of months.
