New Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm will be reunited with one of his former players.
According to reports, former starting Western Kentucky linebacker T.J. McCollum has decided to join his old head coach with the Boilermakers.
As a graduate transfer, McCollum will be eligible to play for Purdue in 2017.
It will be McCollum’s final year of eligibility.
Last season, McCollum recorded 85 tackles and four tackles for loss for the Hilltoppers, who won back-to-back Conference USA titles. He led the team in tackles back in 2015, his first season with the team. McCollum began his career at UAB and transferred to Western Kentucky when the program temporarily shut down.
McCollum’s first game in a Boilermakers uniform will come when the team opens the season against Louisville on Sept. 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
