PJ Fleck Gets Rights To Use 'Row The Boat' At Minnesota

New Minnesota football coach P.J. Fleck is now free to use his “Row the Boat” mantra with his new program.
Fleck coined the phrase during his time with Western Michigan and now his agent, Bryan Harlan, has agreed to a deal that will transfer the rights to the phrase over to the head coach.
In order to receive rights to the phrase, Fleck must pay $50,000 to Western Michigan to endow a scholarship for a football player, according to ESPN.com.
The mantra is very personal to Fleck, who started using the saying after the loss of his second child shortly after his birth. “Row The Boat” is meant to be inspirational, urging people to continue rowing the boat no matter what happens. In essence, never give up.
