4-Star WR Micah Jones Commits To Notre Dame

Notre Dame got a big commitment for the Class of 2018. Micah Jones, the top player in the state of Illinois announced his intention to attend Notre Dame following his senior season of high school.
Standing at 6-foot-5, 196-pounds, Jones selected the Fighting Irish over a number of other schools in Power 5 conferences.
Jones finished up a visit with Notre Dame earlier this month and was so convinced after the visit that he made his announcement early. He was initially planning to make his announcement in April.
Notre Dame was always the front-runner in the race of Jones’ commitment, making his announcement less of a pleasant surprise and more of a weight off their shoulders.

Early in the race, Notre Dame has put together the second best recruiting class in the country. In recent years, though, they’ve been unable to turn great classes into winning football seasons.
Now, with new offensive coordinator Chip Long running the offense, they hope to find more explosive success on that side of the ball.
Adding a player of Micah Jones’ caliber will go a long way with that. Already with dual-threat quarterback Phil Jurkovec and running back Markese Stepp on board, both of whom are also four-star recruits, the Fighting Irish could be laying the foundation for a National Champion winner.
