There is some awful news coming out of Clemson University.
After initially being reported missing on Monday after he did not show up to work, Clemson associate athletic director Bert Henderson has been found dead near his South Carolina home.
Eight search and rescue teams including over 100 people were involved with the search for Henderson. Horse, and K9’s were also dispatched to assist. The search took place on land and in air.
The coroner said Henderson’s body was found over a mile from his property in a wooded terrain area by a search team around noon on Tuesday. There is no word on how long he’s been out there or if any weapons or trauma were noticed to his body at this time.
The 60-year-old Henderson was found one mile from his home.
Henderson, whose wife recently passed away after a battle with cancer, had been with Clemson since joining the university as an athletic trainer in 1978.
