Penn State DE Garrett Sickels To Bench Press For Charity At NFL Combine

Penn State defensive end Garrett Sickles will be using the bench press at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine to raise money for charity.
Sickles is hoping to receiving pledges that will raise $250 for every rep he is able to put up in Indianapolis.
The money raised will be donated to support Uplifting Athletes, which has a mission “to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport, and empower medical researchers to find cures.”
“I was honored to be an Uplifting Athletes Letterman and part of the leadership team for the Penn State Chapter. I participated in Lift for Life every summer that I was on campus,” Sickles wrote on his campaign page for the cause.
“This was a very important part of my PSU life and experience, and that is why I’ve chosen to launch my Reps for Research campaign for Uplifting Athletes in support of the rare disease community.”
Sickels is hoping to raise $5,000.
At $250 a pop, it looks like Sickels is estimating 20 reps at the Combine which takes place from Tuesday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 3.
