Report: Tennessee WR Coach Zach Azzanni Heading To NFL

Another college football coach appears to be headed to the NFL.
According to a report from Volquest, Tennessee assistant Zach Azzanni is set to leave the Volunteers to accept a job with the Chicago Bears.
Azzanni will be serving as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator in Chicago — the same role he currently serves on Butch Jones’ Vols coaching staff.
It will be the first time that Azzanni, who has been with the Vols since 2013, has coached in the NFL.


Azzanni got his first coaching gig in 2001 when he served on the Bowling Green staff as a graduate assistant. He was hired by Urban Meyer remained at Bowling Green through 2006, serving as the school’s wide receivers coach. Azzanni also joined Urban Meyer’s staff at Florida in 2010.
Other coaching roles for Azzanni include stops at Central Michigan, Western Kentucky and Wisconsin.
