Naismith Player of the Year Award 2017: Four Finalists Announced

On Sunday, The Atlanta Tipoff Club announced the four finalists for the Naismith Player of the Year Award, given annually to the top player in college basketball.
The four finalists are names you would expect to be in the running, including Caleb Swanigan of Purdue, UCLA’s Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart of Villanova and Kansas star Frank Mason III.
“Throughout this season we realized that there would be numerous candidates worthy of the Naismith Trophy, so for these four individuals to emerge as finalists, it says a great deal about their drive, determination and leadership,” said Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tipoff Club in a statement.
“Their performances in the tournament will go a long way in determining the winner.”
The 2017 Naismith Trophy winner will be announced on Sunday, April 2.
Fans can participate in this year’s voting by visiting www.naismithtrophy.com/vote between March 20-31. The fan voting will account for five percent of the final vote.
