Ex-UFC Fighter War Machine Guilty of 29 Assault Charges

Former UFC fighter War Machine, born as Jon Koppenhaver, was found guilty of 29 different charges for his violent assault on ex-girlfriend Christy Mack.

The assault was so brutal and deadly that it resulted in Mack having 10 broken bones, multiple lacerations, broken teeth and a broken nose. Koppenhaver was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault and battery constituting domestic violence.

Mack, who required several rounds of reconstructive surgery, believes that it was Koppenhaver’s intent to kill her. She has since used the incident as a platform to speak out against domestic violence and help spread awareness.

Koppenhaver was found not guilty on three of the counts that were brought against him, though.

The jury found that the charges of: burglary with use of a deadly weapon, sexually motivated coercion, and sexual assault with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, were not warranted.

Koppenhaver will be sentenced for the 29 charges he was found guilty of on June 5 in Las Vegas.

He faces life in jail.
