The Stetson baseball program is upset with the Florida Gators, and they have every right to be because they were downright screwed.
After taking a 10-1 lead in the fifth inning, a lightning delay put a halt to the game.
The Hatters enjoyed the comfortable lead, but the delay continued and ultimately the game was cancelled. Because the game did not go past five innings, it does not count as an official meeting, so Stetson won’t get credit for the big win.
Stetson reportedly attempted to reschedule a date to resume play, but the Gators weren’t having it.
Understandably, the team is not happy.
Florida has decided not to resume tonight's game and has refused to agree upon a day to continue. The game effectively did not happen.

It’s an unfortunate situation, but those are sadly the rules.
As a result, Stetson will move on with its season, while the Gators, which sit at 20-9 on the year, will enjoy a tainted four-game winning streak into this weekend’s series with the Tennessee Volunteers.
