It’s been an interesting day for mixed martial arts fans thanks to the drama surrounding the UFC 210 weigh-ins, but now there is some sense of normalcy with the latest episode of UFC Embedded being released.
The newest episode features main event participants Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson, while giving us a closer look at strawweights Pearl Gonzalez and Cynthia Calvillo.
Unfortunately, Gonzalez and Calvillo will not be fighting on tomorrow’s pay-per-view main card tomorrow, because following today’s weigh-ins the New York State Athletic Commission informed Gonzalez she could not fight because of breast implants.
Like I previously wrote, it’s been an interesting day.
Check out the video below:
On Episode 5 of UFC 210 Embedded, the event’s stars perform for fans at Open Workouts, and middleweights Gegard Mousasi and Chris Weidman receive gifts from the Buffalo Sabres hockey team. Light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier makes his feelings about spectating former champion Jon Jones clear, then exchanges light-hearted unpleasantries with challenger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. As weigh-ins draw near, Team Alpha Male strawweight Cynthia Calvillo readies for her second fight in five weeks, while opponent Pearl Gonzalez visits Niagara Falls ahead of her Octagon debut.
UFC 210 takes place Saturday night on pay-per-view, with the main card set to begin at 10:00 p.m. ET.
