NFL Draft Rumors: Texans 'Absolutely Love' Patrick Mahomes

According to the latest NFL Draft rumors, Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien has his eyes on one of the top quarterback prospects in this year’s class.
Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY Sports reports that O’Brien “absolutely loves” Texas Tech signal-caller Patrick Mahomes.
Pelissero says O’Brien’s love of Mahomes is the word on the street according to another NFL head coach.

There could be one problem for the Texans, however. Houston will not be on the clock until the No. 25 overall pick, so if they want to land the former Red Raiders star they would likely need to trade up.
Currently, the only quarterbacks on the Texans roster are Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden, so the team could definitely use some added competition. Whether that ends up being Mahomes will be learned in a couple of weeks.
During his final year at Texas Tech, Mahomes threw for 5,052 yards, 41 touchdowns and just ten interceptions. He added 12 scores on the ground.
The 2017 NFL Draft takes place April 27-29 in Philadelphia.
