Wichita State Lands 8-Year Under Armour Deal

With their move to a new conference, the Wichita State Shockers will get a makeover thanks to a new apparel deal with Under Armour.

On Monday, the Shockers announced an eight-year deal that will begin on July 1.

While the deal officially begins on July 1, the basketball team will continue to wear Nike for the 2017-18 season in order to fulfill their contract with the brand.

Other athletic programs, however, will begin wearing Under Armour this summer.

“Wichita State has long needed to brand itself with consistency and uniformity,” said Wichita State Director of Athletics Darron Boatright in a statement. “Our agreement with Under Armour gives us that, and our student-athletes will get the best and most innovative competition and training apparel available.

“Most importantly, Under Armour understands the importance we place on the student-athlete experience, and our commitment to helping all of our athletic programs win Championships.”

Wichita State now joins fellow AAC programs South Florida, Cincinnati and Temple as Under Armour schools.
