Duke Basketball: Wendell Carter, Marques Bolden Will Majority Of Time Together

The Duke Blue Devils put a lot of their eggs in the basket that included them getting Kevin Knox. Knox decided to attend Kentucky instead, and now Duke is reversing the trend that they’ve used in recent memory.
Today, head coach Mike Krzyzewski confirmed that the Blue Devil lineup will feature two bigs on the floor at the same time.
The legendary coach made himself available to the media at his basketball camp on Wednesday. While answering questions, Coach K confirmed that the team will give Wendell Carter and Marques Bolden large portions of time on the court together.
His comments were first captured in a video, posted by 247sports.

“We’ll actually be a pretty big team. Those two guys will play together,” Mike Krzyzewski said. “It’s a big year for Marques. He’s been training, he’s going to tryout for the U19 team.”

You have to go back all the way to the National Championship winning team in 2010 to find a squad that regularly featured a four and five that both worked in the paint. Coach K is hoping for more of the same result in 2017.
After missing on bringing in Kevin Knox, the coach will need the players on his squad this year to step up big and contribute.
