Jim Boeheim To Start 2017 Season Against His Son

When Jim Boeheim leads the Syracuse basketball team onto the court for the 2017-18 season opener, it will be a family affair.

According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Syracuse will host Cornell to open the season. That means Boeheim will be coaching against his son, who will be a freshman for the Big Red this year.

How is that for some added drama?

As a senior at Jamesville-DeWitt, Boeheim averaged 23.3 points per game. He is joining a team that went just 7-20 last season under first-year head coach Brian Earl.

Boeheim and company, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 19-15 record.
