With one hand, New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. pulls down some of the most impressive catches you’ve ever seen on a football field.
With the other hand, he hands kids $100 bills and a memory they’ll never forget. At least this one kid, anyway. While appearing at a promotional event at a Verizon store, Beckham met with one young fan who had a secret he couldn’t help but leak: it was his birthday.
And once he told the star wide receiver, he promptly pulled a crisp $100 bill out of his wallet and handed it to him.
Odell met with fans Thurs. My colleague's nephew, Yanni, went. @OBJ_3 gave him $100 because it was his birthday. Many positives to speak on pic.twitter.com/CQTGgnpk4S

For a kid, $100 dollars is a ton of money. But that isn’t the best part about this gift. It’s about the unforgettable memory that he handed him. He would have likely gone home on cloud nine if Beckham had just wished him a happy birthday.
But going that extra step ensured that this will be a story he tells for the rest of his life.
It’s also some pretty good PR for ONJ. Anytime you can have your name associated with this kind of press, it’s good for your career. I don’t think that’s what Beckham had in mind when he was doing this, but it’s undoubtedly a welcomed side-effect.
