LeBron James and company gave it a valiant effort. The Golden State Warriors were just too much team too overcome, and they finished off their championship quest on Monday. It was no fault of LeBron James, though, who averaged a triple-double during the playoffs.
On Wednesday, Jamie Foxx was on the Jimmy Kimmel show to promote his new movie, but ended up showing off his best LeBron James impression.
It’s easy to forget that Foxx has his roots in improv and was break out star on the sketch show In Living Color. Top notch impression, particularly in the gait and posture.
He touched on how much he loves LBJ, and says he wept for him last season after the Cavs came back from a 3-1 deficit to take the championship against Golden State. It appears the relationship is one sided, though, as Foxx says that when he sees LeBron, the enthusiasm is only coming from the comedian’s side.
“I think,” Foxx said. “I don’t know. I can’t explain it. I don’t get that heat. Sometimes I see him and I’ll be like, ‘LB! Alright, alright.’ He doesn’t give me that real…”
The most interesting tidbit is the movie he talked about; not the one he was there to plug. Apparently he did a film with Jeremy Piven where he plays a LeBron fan, and the other plays a Steph Curry fan.
The film has already been shot, Foxx said, but hasn’t been released yet.
Maybe a little promotion to try and whet the appetite and get the wheels in motion on releasing that project by Foxx.
