Bill Belichick Shares Lesson He Learned From His Father

Today is Father’s Day, which means people across the country and throughout the sports world are taking the day to honor their fathers for everything they have done throughout their lives.

One of the men who shared a story of his father growing up was New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

In an article on ESPN.com, Belichick shared a lesson that his father taught him when he was growing up and it helps you understand the style that Belichick brings to the NFL sidelines and to the podium before and after each game.

For Belichick,it’s all about letting the team shine and staying quiet. His father wanted it that way.

From the article:

“Keep your head down, work hard, keep your mouth shut. Actions speak louder than words. That’s basically what he did. Do what you can to help the team. The team is bigger than you.”

That’s great advice that we could all learn from and it certainly has paid off for Belichick and his team.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out here. Keep being awesome.
