Jeff Horn Robs Manny Pacquiao Of WBO Title Thanks To Awful Decision

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao faced off against hometown hero Jeff Horn as he defended his WBO welterweight championship on Saturday night in Brisbane, Australia.

The bout — which aired live on ESPN — featured plenty of entertaining back-and-forth action but ended in controversy.

After going all 12 rounds, Horn was granted a controversial unanimous decision win.

While the fight was close and the two 115-113 scorecards are justifiable, though still highly debatable, one judge had an absurd score of 117-111, which led to fans across social media crying robbery on behalf of Pacquiao. And as you would expect, most people were pointing out the hometown cooking from the judges.

Highlights of the fight can be seen below:

After the fight, ESPN’s “resident boxing expert” Stephen A. Smith called out the judges for their scorecards and controversial decision.

As for how the fighters were feeling, Pacquiao and Horn both addressed the crowd from inside the ring after the controversial finish to the night.

How did the final stats stack up for each fighter?

Do you think Horn was deserving of the victory? Or were the judges simply homecooking with their decision? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts on Saturdy night’s ending.
