Four-Star Recruit Greg Emerson Suffers Scary Injury Over Weekend

Greg Emerson, one of the top players in the 2017 recruiting class, suffered a serious injury over the weekend.
According to a report from Barton Simmons of 247 Sports, the four-star defensive lineman was injured at Nike’s “The Opening” and could miss the next month and a half.
Simmons reportedly suffered a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula which may require surgery.
It was initially believed that the injury was much worse.

The 6-foot-3, 296-pounder is the No. 5 defensive tackle in the nation.
Despite offers from programs like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Oregon, Emerson, who is the No. 2 overall recruit in the state of Tennessee, is expected to stay close to home and commit to the Volunteers.
