A top Miami basketball recruit has suffered a serious injury.
Late Tuesday night, five-star shooting guard Lonnie Walker took to Twiter to announce he suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee during practice.
Walker is set to undergo surgery before a timeline is set for his return to the court.
“I promise this will not slow me down,” he wrote. “Minor setback for a major comeback.”
For everyone asking I did tear my meniscus. But I promise this will not slow me down. Minor setback for a major comeback 🤘🏾 Isaiah:40-29

Walker, a standout from Reading, Pennsylvania, was the No. 2 player at his position and the No. 15 overall recruit in the nation.
Miami enters the season with high hopes and a likely top 15 ranking. Whether they are able to deliver on the preseason hype remains to be seen, but it will be easier if Walker is able to make his way back onto the court.
