Urban Meyer Says Big Ten Is Now Level With SEC

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer knows he is in one of the toughest conferences in the nation.
That’s nothing new for Meyer, however, after he spent 2005-2010 with the Florida Gators, leading the team to two SEC titles and two national championships.
Many believe the SEC is the toughest conference in college football, but Meyer isn’t having that.
As it currently stands, the Buckeyes head coach says the Big Ten and SEC are now on a level playing field.
”I don’t think there’s a gap at all,” Meyer said, via the Score. ”I’ve coached in the SEC East when that was one of the strongest in the country. And I think the Big Ten East right now is every bit as strong as I can remember the SEC East.”
It’s hard to deny that.
With the Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions all in the national title picture, it’s going to be another difficult season for Urban Meyer and Ohio State.
Ohio State opens its 2017 campaign on the road Thursday, Aug. 31 against the Indiana Hoosiers.
