LSU’s Danny Etling knows the importance of the quarterback-center exchange in football.
If you can’t get the snap down, you can never run a play. And because of that, it takes some quality bonding between the quarterback and his centers to make sure they are very familiar with each other.
During a recent session with the media, Etling provided some insight on just how well he knows his centers.
Well, at least their butts.
Former LSU center T-Bob Hebert asked Etling which center’s butt he preferred the most and we got a brilliant response.
“I can just tell you want I look for in a center as far as that,” Etling said. “So what you want is a nice, plump, bottom. Something to put your — some surface area to put your hands on. So then you want them to feel you. So as much as I love [starting center Will Clapp], and as great a football player as he is, he doesn’t have the biggest bottom … but he and I have really worked toward it and I’ve found a nice surface area to put my hands on.”
Now we know a lot more about the LSU centers than we thought we would learn this season.
