Wisconsin Football: Jack Cichy Out For 2017 With Torn ACL

The Wisconsin football program announced some terrible news on Thursday.
Star linebacker Jack Cichy, who was entering his senior season after earning an All-Big Ten honorable mention a year ago, will miss the 2017 season after suffering a torn ACL in practice.
According to head coach Paul Chryst, the injury occurred on Tuesday.
You hate it for Jack,” Chryst said in a statement. “You only get so many chances to play this game and you never want to see a guy miss any of those opportunities. He’s one of the leaders of our team and I know he’ll be a big part of what we do moving forward this season.”
Cichy also missed the last seven games of 2016 with an injury, but still managed to record 60 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
The Badgers now need a new leader to emerge on the defensive side of the ball.
Wisconsin opens its 2017 campaign on Friday, Sept. 1 against Utah State.
